| Janet D'Esopo Klett, RN, Director of Community Service Janet D'Esopo Klett, RN is a Registered nurse with clinical background in geriatrics and public health. She currently serves as the Director of Community Service for the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel and the D'Esopo Resource Center. Janet is the granddaughter of the founders of the company. |
| Karen Carney R.N. LCSW, FT, Bereavement Program Director Karen Carney is a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and has been awarded the distinction of Fellow in Thanatology. She has been Nationally Recognized for Excellence in her field as a Lane Adams Award winner. She is the Bereavement Program Director for the D'Esopo Funeral Chapels and the D'Esopo-Pratt Bereavement Resource Center. Karen's experience with families in crisis is extensive. Her work with various crisis teams at the Prudence Crandall Center, the Child Intervention Team at the Newington Children's Hospital, the Lifesaver Program at Hartford Hospital, Survivors of Homicide, and Interval House for Battered Women make her a knowledgeable resource for her position with the D'Esopo Funeral Chapels. As the speaker of choice for many professional organizations, Karen is often asked to present both on the local and national level. Barklay and Eve Children's Book Series. Shortly after her joining the D'Esopo team, Karen gave voice to her extensive experience with children by writing and illustrating the Barklay and Eve Children's Book Series. The Barklay and Eve Children's Book Series includes eight interactive children's books which address various topics that may be difficult for parents and caregivers to explain. Issues like attending funerals, explaining cremation, hospice, a cancer diagnosis, and pet loss are just a few of the topics that are tenderly portrayed by using Karen's two loveable main character's, Barklay and Eve - her Portuguese Water Dogs. |
| Christina Rossini, Family Care ConciergeSM Christina is a native of Wethersfield. She is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and serves as the Family Care Concierge for the Wethersfield chapel. She has been on the board of directors for the Wethersfield Chamber of Commerce for the past several years and is a member of the Ella T. Grasso Lodge of the Sons of Italy. Christina also belongs to the Corpus Christi Women’s Club, the Wethersfield Historical Society and the Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center. She enjoys volunteering at her daughter’s school in Wethersfield, as well as scrapbooking and reading. |
| Joan Olenick, Family Care Concierge, East Hartford Joan works in our East Hartford Location as an Administrative Assistant and Family Care Concierge SM. Her finely tuned organizational skills make her a perfect candidate for this position. Prior to coming to work for our funeral chapel, she worked for St. Issac Jogues Church as parish secretary. |
| Patricia Ference, Chief Financial Officer Patty Ference currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel and D'Esopo Resource Center. She has over 20 years of financial management experience and has a background in the health care industry. Patty resides in Berlin with her husband Mike and their daughters Ashley and Emily. |
| Noreen Guildner, Administrative Assistant Noreen Guildner is an accomplished secretary who brings her years of former experience working with the local school system to her position as administrative assistant. Her organizational ability, compassionate demeanor and interpersonal skills serve her and our clients well. |
| Maria Matulis Maria is responsible for the coordination of all office activities. Her exceptional organizational skills and experience in public relations make her a natural for this position. Prior to Maria joining our staff she worked with Exxon Mobil as a Facility Concierge Specialist. Maria lives in Middletown with her daughters, Alex, Julia and husband, Ray. |
| Brett Backman, Plant Engineer Brett's responsibility as Plant Engineer is to ensure that our buildings and motor equipment function in top condition at all times. His background in environmental maintenance makes him a perfect candidate for this position. |
| Cecilia D'Esopo, Hair Dresser Ceil D'Esopo - is a Licensed Hair Dresser for over 35 years and as such, is responsible for assuring that family wishes for hair design are carried out. She is the wife of George D'Esopo. |
| William Pilkington, Pastoral Counselor William Pillkington, STM, MA, EdD currently serves as the Pastoral Consultant for the D'Esopo Resource Center. Bill holds Master degrees in Sacred Theology, and Counseling and a Doctorate in Counseling, Education and Supervision. He also is associated with Hospice VNA Healthcare, Inc. |
