The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel has been nationally recognized for excellence year after year by the National Funeral Director's Association since 1999. In 2010, they were inducted into the Hall of Excellence, the highest award in funeral service. Less than 1% of all funeral homes in the United States have achieved this distinction.
A National Leader in Funeral ServiceSince 1905, the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel has been a trendsetter in the funeral industry. The funeral home was one of the first to offer motorized vehicles when the horse and buggy were still popular. Mary D’Esopo was one of the Hartford area’s first female funeral directors. As Wethersfield’s first funeral home, the D’Esopo Family continues to be known for its innovative ideas and compassionate service. D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel has been voted one of the top five best funeral homes in the Hartford County area in a recent survey.
Recognized on the national level, the D’Esopo Resource Center, the first of its kind in the country, has been a model for bereavement services for funeral homes across the nation. Each year since 2000, both D’Esopo locations, are proud to have been awarded the coveted Pursuit of Excellence Award from the National Funeral Director's Association (NFDA) and was inducted into the NFDA's Hall of Excellence in 2010, a distinction bestowed on less than 1% of all funeral homes nationally.
In 2005, the unique D’Esopo Life Tribute Center was opened and was the subject of a front page cover of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA).
In October of 2013, the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel was featured on the cover of the American Funeral Director Magazine once again lauded as a recognized leader in the industry.
All licensed funeral directors who are associated
with the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, are required to achieve their Certified
Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) status within three years of joining our
firm. This distinction, assures that
they meet a higher educational standard than the average funeral director.
April, 2014 - D’Esopo Funeral Chapel was presented the Certificate of Excellence Award in recognition of achieving the highest levels of customer service satisfaction from the families served in 2013. Greg Hilgendorf from Johnson Consulting Group in Arizona was on hand at D’Esopo’s Wethersfield location to make the presentation. (See our Blog on the Home Page)
May, 2014 - Joan Olenick received the Newer Member Appreciation Award from the East Hartford Woman's Club. Joan heads up the club's program committee and was recognized for all of her efforts to provide informative monthly events for the group.
